The tapered shape of the Alpine AscentShell Bivy works best with tapered shape sleeping pads with narrower dimensions at the foot, ideally 56cm or narrower.

Its step-in opening allows you step directly out of your boots and into your bed easier and without the fuss of shimmying. Extra large head space makes room for gear, and a no-see-um mesh comes in handy when the bugs are out for blood.
